Welcome to this episode of the Travel, Pray, Slay podcast. I am so excited to be joined by Nicole Watson, the owner and operator of Rich, Rich Energy. In this episode, we talk about why it’s so important for women, especially black women, to normalize luxury in our lives.

Rich, Rich Energy is a brand geared towards women who enjoy the finer things in life. When Nicole is not designing merchandise, managing orders, and curating social media content, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. As the mother of two, she finds it important to carve out time for herself to refuel her inner rich babe. Amongst her favorite activities are trying new cuisines, traveling, and DIY projects.

[12:01] There is nothing wrong with having high standards. You should have high standards for yourself and those you invite into your life.
[13:23] You can have a credit card that is getting you hotel discounts, free hotel stays, or use your points for cashback to book a trip.
[16:56] Many airlines are allowing flyers to upgrade to first class for a small fee.
[18:31] As you hit milestones or goals, it is okay to treat yourself.
[20:39] We can sometimes get in the way of other people’s rich energy with our broke mindset. It is okay if other people want to treat you. Welcome it with gratitude.
[22:45] You should not feel guilty or ashamed because you are able to do nice things for yourself or for others.
[26:09] Oftentimes women, especially black women, don’t negotiate for what they are worth, they will accept whatever is offered to them.
[26:51] Know your worth, own that worth, and charge your worth.

[29:23] It doesn’t have to be expensive to be a luxury. It is really about how it enhances your life and makes your life easier or better in some sort of way.
[32:23] Fresh flowers are a great luxury to add to your life. There is something about walking into a room and seeing beautiful flowers.
[34:44] Life is short. Have those experiences now.
[35:26] Normalizing luxury is a great form of self-care too.
[37:55] If someone is posting something don’t always think that someone is trying to throw their luxury in your face.
[40:29] We want to normalize luxury so we can inspire others to do it too. If we are bragging people should assume we are bragging on God.
[44:19] We need to normalize people leveling up and getting to a good place in life where now they can enjoy fancy things.
[45:22] Take advantage of the freedom and privileges that your life allows.
